	Obstruction of the inlet to this dam by beaver activity was a perpetual problem. Working with the Conn. D.E.P. and the U.S. Natural Resources Conservation Service, Meehan & Goodin designed an innovative and experimental "fence" to provide a framework on which the beavers would build their dam. By locating this "beaver fence" upstream of the inlet, the beavers could construct their "dam" without blocking the inlet to ours.
